On Friday morning, I had the pleasure, along with Constance, our new intern from France, of orchestrating a cleanup for Anders Fairbanks and Lia Pinelli's Gateway HS classes. It was a beautiful day and perfect for spending time at OB. I provided a brief piece on the state of plastics and how they end up on our beaches and why everyone can reduce their presence and their own carbon footprint by being cognizant of their consumption habits no matter where they are.
The kids were great and though roughly an aggregate of two bags was picked up, we looked at that as a great success - meaning there was less trash on the beach. Hopefully this trend continues. The kids were stoked, the teachers had a good time, and I learned about some French movies I can add to the growing list of foreign culture items I need to digest.
A shout out must be made to our newest education recruit, Trisha, who showed up to help out. Sorry I was a bit spacey. Thanks for the great work!
Till next time
